Hey folks -- happy Monday!
I have so many things to show you -- somehow, when I should be doing fun things like grading and cleaning, I end up making stuff instead! Such a sacrifice, I know.
Anyway, today I thought I'd kick things off with a layout that's all about the stamping -- a rarity for me, actually, even though I'm as much a stamper as a scrapper. It seems like I have a hard time putting the two together, but when I saw the current Paper Smooches SPARKS challenge image, I had a flash of...something...maybe not exactly brilliance, but a flash nonetheless.
Here's the challenge image:
Yum - Orla Kiely. Love this design! Plus, since I won some Paper Smooches stamps from Emily's blog a couple weeks ago, I was all set to get 'em inky! I was inspired by the colors and the multi-directional repetition of the image, as well as the little signature in the selvedge. Here's my layout:
I turned one of the cameras into a little medallion accent to highlight the theme of the page: we often forget to get photos of ourselves, but I almost always love the ones we remember to take! This particular photo was from Jazz Fest back in September.
Well, I can't say I'll always stamp THIS much on my layouts, but I'm sure encouraged to break out the rubber and ink more often when I'm scrapping.
Coming up this week: I'll be sharing my October projects for Scrappy Chic, and if I'm really ambitious, I'll have a pile o'layouts inspired by Shimelle Laine's Pretty Paper Party class. Can't wait!
Now, back to the real world. Grading, here I come! Have a lovely day.

I think you can call it a flash of brilliance, Ang -- this is awesome! I love the almost patternless pattern of the cameras, and the medallion one with its little highlights, the fab mix of papers... and the sweet photo! Definitely stamp on your layouts more often!
I love your creation! How cute to use the little camera stamp like you did, great colors and such a fun use of the SPARKS challenge to create a layout.
Such a fun, vibrant layout Angela. I love how changed the colours on the camera lens. Great interpretation of the inspiration photo. Thanks for joining us at Paper Smooches SPARKS challenge :)
Hi Angela - Love this LO. Your colors are just great together and LOVE the 'we click' titles - what a super idea! Are you coming to the 11/11/11 crop by any chance? Looking forward to more stamping from you soon - bye, Cathy C.
I came to your blog under orders from Lindsey and I'm glad she sent me. :) Love your layout and all those cameras with their coloured lens caps! I'll definitely be back...
Love that camera stamp and the way you used it on your layout! Looking forward to seeing your Scrappy Chic and Pretty Paper Party projects!
This has to be one of my favorite of your layout! The stamping is amazing...and the color combo (you know I love navy!!lol). I will have to try this stamping technique soon :) Thanks for some great inspiration - off to scrap now!
WOW! I cannot believe you stamped that camera that many times! FABULOUS LO--love love love! THANKS so much for joining in the fun and playing along with us over at the Paper Smooches SPARKS challenge:)
Get out!! Ang, that is the most fantastic layout you've ever made (and you've made a ton of them)! I'm in love with the colours (no surprise, right) and the way you've made a background out of the camera! LOVE how you put hearts in some of them. Cute, cute, cute!!
Wow, now this is one fabulous showcase of how stamping and scrapbooking work together! Goodness, is is amazing. Love your bright colors and the whimsical design.
Oh wow, you really captured the inspiration photo in your fabulous layout!!! Fantastic job.
I Love your page, its fantastic! All those stamps look so fab, hugs x x
I just had to come back and look at this again. I missed it the first time you said 'lens cap' and you totally made me go look at the stamp set. It's supposed to be a record but you are such a freakin' genius to use it as a lens cap! I'm totally stealing that idea!!
